Aluminum ridge vents are a common cause of leaks that appear in the middle of a house. Over time the nails securing the ridge vent can begin to back out causing leaks. When this occurs, we recommend replacing the existing nails with new gasket headed fasteners to resecure and seal the ridge vent.

There are many ways to tell when a TPO roof is nearing the end of it's life span. The first is to see if the flashings around penetrations and laps in the sheets are lifting, as this could indicate the initial heat welding is failing. The second way it to investigate the sheet itself and see if a white fabric called "scrim" is showing through your membrane. This will indicate that the membrane is wearing thin and allowing water through the sheet. If there are walk pads on your roof, the perimeters of the pads are also a common area for sheet deterioration over time.

Metal roofs are particularly susceptible to snow and ice. We recommend installing snow bars, or snow guards to the roof area following manufacture guidelines. SVRS is proud to use snow retention products from Sno-Jax located in Lemoyne, PA.
